Laqlouq
Open highland above Jbeil at around 1,700 metres. Larger parcels, a quieter market, and room to build what you actually want.
What it is
Laqlouq lies inland from Jbeil at roughly 1,700 metres — a broad, open plateau of pasture and rock rather than the enclosed valleys further south. Snow through winter, cool through summer, and a small ski area.
It is comparable in altitude to Faqra and entirely different in feel: less developed, less expensive, and considerably less crowded.
Why it is quieter
Laqlouq never accumulated the concentration of building and the social gravity that Faqra did. That has kept prices well below the Keserwan mountain addresses and left parcels available at sizes that are hard to find elsewhere at altitude.
For a buyer who wants space and does not need the address, this is the most straightforward value on the mountain.
What to check
- Whether the parcel is registered, and whether the boundaries on the ground match the plan.
- Access — informal tracks are common on open highland.
- Water and power distance, which on the plateau can be considerable.
- Winter access and clearance, which determines whether the house is usable in January.
Who it suits
Buyers who want a large parcel and intend to build something specific rather than buy something finished. The stock of completed villas is thin; the stock of land is not.
It rewards patience and punishes assumption. Verify the file before the view persuades you.
